Kaatskill Woodturners Meeting October 13

What: Kaatskill Woodturners Meeting
When: Wednesday October 13, 2010 at 7:00PM
Where: Opdahl Building

Who: Joe Larese

Using only the ½ inch skew chisel, Joe will take a 2 inch round blank and turn a beautiful finial. By using a combination of peeling, planing and shearing cuts, Joe will develop the delicate detail that is the hallmark of fine spindle turning. Often used with a hollow form to make Holiday ornaments, Joe will also discuss ways to create simpler finials that are easy to make but still have good design.
