Learning to Hollow—on a Budget
How often have you thought that you would like to do some hollow turning but find the cost of the tools prohibitive? Matt will demo several ways to begin hollow turning without spending a king's ransom. His demo will focus on learning to use low cost tools that cut end grain smoothly as opposed to scraping it. You will see how to use ring tools and hook tools to rapidly hollow small to medium size open hollow forms. You will also see some modifications to the original manufacturer's tool that you can make to extend the usefulness of the tool.
